  • I think something happens at certain view-count levels which gives the video a 'boost' .  I think the first one is at 1000 views. Perhaps YT puts them higher in a 'suggested video' list? 'Likes' seem to influence it as well. Don't quote me on any o…
  • Some good moves for a big guy
  • Setting up the green screen is time consuming. I also used to spend time ironing, water-spraying, hair-drying etc my green screen. Since I bought an inexpensive pair of lights and the Green Screener app I've not had to do any of that again. I did us…
  • @Triem23 thanks. Although Alfie wants to build his YouTube channel this is all part of  a larger plan for things he'd like to do in the future. That's why all the feedback and encouragement is invaluable. We're considering a 'Hitfilm Commu…
  • I'm no pro but do find myself watching these skills videos late at night. One thing I don't like is endless replays. The odd slow-mo if something happens so fast, the odd zoom to show what the feet are doing but beyond that I can scroll back if I wa…
  • @Hitfilm18240 really interesting that you bring up a couple of things we thought about but didn't go for. We had a take using the finger and 'Now' suggestion. It was dropped as being too obvious. We should have gone somewhere in-between the two. W…
  • Very good... good song too
  • If that first 123,000,000 Traveller video is anything to go by then this is going to be VERY useful.
  • @jsbarrett excellent comments as always.  We did consider having Alfie hunkered down but it didn't look right. Should have thought to have him seated and scrunched up. In profile it might have shown off the potato a bit more and allow a slow-turn t…
  • I really enjoyed it. It built up nicely and the acting, camera work and editing was very good. I didn't really understand what was going on in the flat until I googled 'Erica Zann' . I haven't read the book or seen the film so if the reference in th…
  • @Andy001z  Good spots and much appreciated Initially at 31s we moved from the upper body shot to a fullbody shot to get the impact. Unfortunately this made it less obvious that Alfie was 'wishing' so we zoomed it back in.  As you point out…
  • @Hitfilmer18240  fantastic feedback and agree with all of it... many thanks. "totally overdo it and have it topple over at the very end, with an additional "ouch" from the victim.".... ARRRGHHH yes. Comedically that would have been perfect…
  • "I label everything, no matter how small or simple" ...  and I don't (until now) which is why I get into such a muddle with more complex shots
  • thanks @HitfilmSensei  I agree.  I need a clearer approach when it comes to applying the FX and also planning for them during filming.  I often get in a mess during post with (for me) more complex FX. I'm sure it'll come with practice
  • I feel a lot more like I was moving along the trail with them which improves it for me considering it's basically the same clips (?)
  • It's a genius solution for something that you wouldn't think should be a problem. It would be nice if Hitfilm added something but I'm not sure how often people do counters to make it worthwhile. For Alfie's 100 Million Subscriber skit we needed a c…
  • @platinum8000 Really liked the intro and music. Quality varied but, generally, was very good. This made the out of focus bit at around 1:00 more obvious. Maybe clip the first few seconds off that until it focuses? The scenery is fantastic so deserv…
  • Really useful. The turn itself is straightforward enough but it's the additional touches which really make it.
  • Hmm OK... not sure I explained myself well enough but can understand the reaction. Personally I am interested in how people are using Hitfilm within their content and the content itself.  I guess the User Gallery is for that anyway.
  • @zachAlan_Productions I really like this sort of humour. The web effect looked good. Not sure what standards you're setting for yourself but a fun, well executed, well lit, well filmed video with a good script. In short.... it's really good.
  • @net1994 I have similar spec machine to yourself (i7-3770k, GTX 760 and 16mb RAM) using Hitfilm Pro4 . I don't use 4K video but have stacked many videos, songs etc without a problem.. I do sometimes see slowdown in quite complicated composite shot…
  • @jsbarrett Many thanks. We took a bit more time and care on the filming which made post a bit easier. Hitfilm was used for the majority of the editing this time and went well.  Always easier if you limit back&forth between different packages.
  • I was trying to get my head around something like this myself. What would be good is to be able to create an 'action' which you save like a preset.  I've used similar concept in programming and animation software. A bit like a macro???
  • Fantastic.... Tint was the one.  I had gone through every Hue and colour effect  Many thanks for the quick answer.
  • most welcome
  • Think what you're after for Q1 is... options/preferences then plane/image default duration? For Q2... nothing I know of in Hitfilm. I always use another editor for menus
  • "As some of you may know, I make filmmaking (and many Hitfilm) tutorials on my channel, Film Empire." ... and very good they are too.  We used HitFilm 4 Pro Editor for the majority of our last video as well. There are still a few areas where anothe…
  • All done.. I went through some of your other videos and really good  effects. We have a couple of skits on the 'to do' list which will be using a fireball/meteor landing and a quick change effect so interesting to see your version
  • @Palacano I get what you mean. My empathy/sympathy was for 'injured Chris' mainly because 'evil Chris' was not very.... err... nice. Some more back story on injured Chris would have been good. I had guessed he was feeling worthless so had run away a…
  • @Bry_Man  I've subscribed as I know the pressure. I'll get my son to do the same. If you could reciprocate it would be appreciated AlfieD Youtube
