I have never made one but I'll see if I can.  We had severe storms and tornadoes roll through the area last night so I missed this until now.  Sorry about that.

  • @FlyingBanana78  You did a very nice job with the D4N adjustments.  Really the only giveaway for me was the super hard shadows of the handrails.  The age old problem with D4N as I understand it.  In a bigger production this could be lessene…
  • @WedgeOz  A very good job.  I especially liked the transition with the shower curtain.  From a composition standpoint the story had a logical flow and it was appropriately bizarre.  Kudos.
  • @GrayMotion  Looks super to me.  In fact, I can't spot the aberration that you all are talking about at all.  I thought it was the size of the phone screen which I watched multiple times trying to catch it so I switched to the computer and …
  • Edited on merging I may have misunderstood your problem though.
  • @MRIISK  Here is screen cap showing the location of the A and the Text Tab. https://www.dropbox.com/s/js950d9xwr48ge1/Text Tool.png?dl=0 Hope this helps you out.
  • @Digitaldave   Apparently others spotted it as dummy gun waaay better than I.  I chalk it up to my total cluelessness of firearms, but I was taken in by it.
  • Thank you both!  I'm amazed you found those threads so quickly.  You know as I scanned the threads I almost opened the blender harmony one cause something seemed familiar there but I didn't listen that small voice....something I regret often.
  • @Digitaldave Agree with everyone else about the level of your VFX, but the 'old man' rose up strong in me and I couldn't help worrying about that gun and hoping it was a fake.  Scared me...!
  • @Triem23  I feel I could be POTUS with a Episode 1 Palpatine-like ('Wipe them out, all of them!') philosphy.
  • @Jotoqi   Good to know what you are seeing.  I'm almost certain I have seen 4 may be 5 threads in the past month from different users and I was super curious how it was coming about that they were listing it that way.  I don't know what is …
  • @fathomburger  Yes, I agree with @Stargazer54.  Of the three I could think of off the top of my head those two are on the list and I would also add Hitfilm Sensei to them.  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCH0pZyaX_P3xFYkqj545Rdw I also a…
  • @Jotoqi At the bottom if this thread is a post of mine and a link to a screen cap that shows how to find your version number.  http://hitfilm.com/forum/discussion/comment/106653/#Comment_106653 I have noticed a number of threads recently asking ab…
  • @LiamMcM1   Sorry, my fault I didn't say this, but you could set up the green screen outdoors when you're filming the actor on top of whatever and shoot with the same lighting.  True, you'll have to be a little creative here to avoid shadow…
  • +2 On C4D file import support.  I can never get the materials to export right when converting it alembic or fbx or obj formats.
  • @LiamMcM1   Also, to state the obvious, since you're in Express you could always film multiple angles  of the start of the fall with a green screen and use a clean plate of the location where he's supposed to be falling from. Just another o…
  •  @Hitfilmer195100  I did a little of this with my old family home movies and created a couple of presets I needed for footage that was similar but I was using 4 PRO at the time and I'll have to check to see what effect I used and if they ar…
  • @ongseowhsiung  Exactly what Stargazer54 said above.  Well done and you even helped me to under stand the animating the path tool a bit better in the process.  Hit you with a sub.
  • @Adepro1909  Just learned how to do this myself not too long ago: Go up the toolbar at the top to the nine little squares that will say "workspace" when you hover over it (you have to have the program fully open to do this) and click on it…
  • @DLKeur  That's definitely got to be one of the bundles with VFX assets and such.  I upgraded from 2017 Hitfilm Pro during the November sale for somewhere around $168 (if I remember correctly) but that was just for Hitfilm Pro.  I didn't ge…
  • @TriFlixFilms  Hey, long time no see.   Glad you drifted back to us, and congrats on getting through another semester unscathed...well, mostly.
  • @SirBookwriter  +1 to what @Film_Empire said.  I am confused as well, but you are not the only user I've seen call it HItfilm 4 Express 2017.  Look at this capture of the splash screen that shows when you first start Hitfilm; the area circl…
  • @Powersolo   A pretty handy system for drawers there.  Much, much prettier and quicker than any I ever made back in the day.  Would have been nice to have such equipment.  Your editing seemed pretty professional and slick too.
  • @Snowworm  You don't mention which version of Hitfilm you using but unless I'm mistaken I think the latest Hitfilm and possibly 2017 are operating above the specs of an I3 cpu.  I'm not familiar enough on GPUs to know where yours falls at b…
  • @jsbarrett  Thought I'd play along and offer these: Hitfilm Fast Notes Hitfilm Random Revelations (or Reveals) Hitfilm QuikBuzz They kind of stray from the parameters established but I thought maybe one would spark some interest.
  • @FlyingBanana78  FWIW, I keep most of my assets on external hard drives so I can swap them between computers easily.  True, you have to stay anal about keeping files you're working on updated on the externals but it works for me.   I have o…
  • @austintheweird  Pretty good tutorial and definitely a great example of why you should always try to get a clean plate with each shot even if you aren't intending to need it.  It can save you a lot of effort in post.
  • @drowningmanjr  Tough question... The answer will vary by everyone who responds because really it's a very individual-oriented thing.  I think the best you can do is play to your interests in choosing a type or genre, watch as much as you c…

  •  @Triem23  Useful information to know...
  • @Triem23  That is the question to life, the universe and everything...  I have wondered that myself but I cannot get 42 to make sense in this case.
  • @ihavAdollar  I have used this program with success and I have seen it recommended by a couple of the gurus here.  There are two versions and I think you want to use the 64 bit version for better results. http://www.virtualdub.org/index.ht…
