I think you got it. Indeed, just do it a bunch to learn it.
And who knows? Maybe I'll make a tutorial for it in the future... Currently I'm busy working on another series though...
As of software, I think you got it quite right. Howeve…
When working on short films, the timelines get pretty massive and you can get lost in your own work... Also when viewing back an old project, it's nice to see what is what. That's why I do it....
Hey @PhilTanny !
The next steps for me seem to be:
1) How to attach a vid or photo to the object being tracked.
What you want to do is create a new point layer. You can either do that by going to +NEW LAYER or by using Ctrl+Alt+P on windows. In th…
@Palacono that's exactly what I wanted to type but you were first... Just freeze a frame and keyframe the object to move and add motion blur. I think that'd make a nice tutorial for my channel... We'll see.
It sounds like you used a different color space in AE. Hitfilm may nit support that color space and I think that's why the colors are different... Not sure though, I'm not an AE expert... @Triem23 ?
When Hitfilm loses track, you'll have to reposition the box to where the yellow ball is and press Track Forward again. Remember that tracking doesn't work when the object is half out of frame (which won't work in ANY software), you'll ha…
Now the face swap is very simple. They use mocha, but as the heads don't really move in 3d space but more 2d, this can be done for free using my tracking tutorial.
Just make a 2 point track and when the tracking is done, attach the track…
As like... EVERYONE said already, it depends. For my Film Empire episodes, I have a standard project file which I can copy and edit. I have 2 footage and 2 audio layers, a Letterbox and 2 layers for motion graphics, and then a music layer.…
I think that should be doable, do you have a link to the after effects video that you want to recreate? I'll take a look if it's able in Hitfilm.
For advanced tracking (e.g. 3D tracks and camera solves) you'll have to buy the Mocha plug…
Yeah, I can understand... More basic editing, PE works fine, but when working on compositing things (including tracking), PE has its limitations.
If you need help with tracking in HF:
I have used Premiere Elements 13 for over 4 years now and when working on some serious/beefy stuff, PE has some of it's limitations. Things that are better in Hitfilm are:
Working with masks
Better color correction…
Wat is jouw vraag precies? Ik snap m niet helemaal door je engels (geeft niets hoor, ik spreek engels al wat langer ;-) )
Als je jouw vraag even in het nederlands stelt zal ik hem beantwoorden.
You first have to deactivate the software as it seems that there is a version installed somewhere... To do that, go to https://hitfilm.com/account and click VIEW ACTIVATIONS next to the software version (e.g. 4 or 2017).
When you're ther…
@Triem23 and @LanceTBrown
Very true. If it records longer than 30 minutes, it'll be clasified as a video camera and that'll cost more, so most camera's will cut at 29:59 or earlier. I have a film camera so I can fill my entire card in one take...
The rotoscoping at 1:07 looks a bit of as it's a feathered mask, but hey, that's me being picky
The screen replacement at 1:35 doesn't really work as you just applied a mask. What you could use is the qua…
You can use 1280x720, but I'd suggest using a bigger image OR scaling it up (150%) to fit 1920x1080. When using 1280x720 and you scale it up, the image will be a bit more blurred.
And WAV should work fine, I use it all the time…
