How are you adding the letter box? Are you using a mask or have you added the letter box effect to a grade layer maybe.

yeah, I've been working on getting this to give a very subtle slow breeze motion. The tree will be tracked on a camera pan and won't show very long. The biggest issue is viewing the changes as this effect seems to slow everything Waaaayyy down.

I think shake would work, but some scenes look 'jittery' almost like someone was having a hard time holding the camera. My opinion though, I would try to calm it down a little, maybe even add camera shake in post to have more control.
This is still a rampant problem for me. Happens every few clicks.
