  • Thanks everyone for that. Now lets say you were going to do a shot like that with only a shoulder rig... How would you do it? I was thinking just have my actors do their stuff in slow mo while I walk around them with the rig. Afcoarse this would be…
  • Hey I have one more question. Can you submit a film into multiple festivals? I know probably a dumb question but I need answers! lol
  • Ok thanks. I looked online like last year at this time and saw a few festivals that would give out cash prizes of $ 1,000 that I could have easily won. Not because I am amazing but that the other film were not so much amazing. It would be nice to ge…
  • Ahh yeah that definitely would have been the easiest... My night shoot is tomorrow night and if ordered the gels they wouldn't come in time. Should have planned ahead better. Oh well. You live you learn. I am going to go to an office store and get …
  • I am using mainly work lights and two victor smith spot lights. I am trying to film a scene in the dark so I need the light to be blue and then another light to be an orange camp fire look. I can get that pretty good just not the blue tint to the li…
  • I am using the 60D(love that camera!) lol Yeah the reflector would be really good. That is what I will end up doing. I think I will try my big flashlight again but this time put a difuser I got with five reflectors in front of the light so it is not…
  • Hey, thanks Axel, I have tried to use a big flash light for a backlight during day but it looks like, well a flash light. Maybe if I have a diffuser in front of the light it will make it look better. Yeah that is a sword she is holding. I have behi…
  • Ok that makes sense. But shouldn't there be a separation of the actor from the background. A back light? Or is that more for greenscreen work. In my shots I have absolutely no separation. Perhaps I just need to get a shallower depth of field. Here …
  • Alright thanks guys. I am filming tomorrow and will have behind the scenes ready by the weekend! God bless.
  • Hey, I just bought a 2000 pro glidecam myself. I have spent so much time on it with no avail. I get the rig very balanced but when I walk with it the glidecam rotates my camera around and around. Do you know why that is? I have a canon 60D with a 5…
  • Yeah I did further research and that is also what I came up with. Thanks for your input. You can get a quick release for the glide cam. Or you can put a tripod head onto it. That's what I have read anyway.
  • Very well done! I really like the interviews in the middle of the game. Very clever and put together very nicely. Can't wait till you make more.
  • Thanks for the input Axel. Yeah the reason it was so choppy was because my sister who was doing some of the recording (the parts I wasn't in) didn't press the record button on time and a couple other things like that. We filmed the scene in about an…
  • Yeah what they said. I am in the same spot. Right now I have a cast of about six people plus a couple extras which I will coax into helping out when time comes. I first looked for friends and tried to make their parts the way their personality reall…
  • Wow, very impressive! I thought it was a real car also. I had to look real close to find just little things that were wrong. I mean really close! Fantastic work. I'm currently making a medieval fantasy film called the Pilgrim's Progress. It is a re…
  • Yeah I'm pretty interested also. I already subscribed when it comes out. From what I got out of it. It's going to be like Vimeo and Red Box combined. Not sure a whole lot of people will pay to watch student and experimental films though. Nonetheless…
  • Oh hey I'm just wondering. Technically speaking is there anything that Blender doesn't have that other 3d programs do? Such as Maya or Cinema 4D. I want to learn just one program for now and I'm wondering which one to do. I'm more comfortable with …
  • I would love to see how you did your first video with the the dragon walking. If you could explain how to light your 3d object and make it walk on the actual ground of the video. Also the animating part wouldn't hurt. Thanks a lot. I'll definitely…
  • Yeah I guess you guys are right. I do need smoke. Just not sure what to use yet. I gotta look around my stock.
  • That is pretty sweet. I just bought a 60D so I'm pretty much broke but come end of school when I have to work more I'll be getting a similar rig. What kind of tripod do you have?
  • Well okay so after months of not getting you guys up to date I thought now that I'm almost finished with the film it would be a good time to catch you up. We've been having terrible weather here in Wisconsin. One day it's raining, the other it's sno…
  • Yeah I know what you mean to. It used to so complicated to me so I didn't even try it. But Really after you follow a couple tutorials and do some stuff on there it's not as hard as it seems. Here is a great link for beginners in Blender. http://www…
  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVPcT0dJmoY Here is a great intro to tracking in 3D. As far as getting the camera track into Hitfilm I'm not sure cause I don't own it. Best of luck
  • Wow, that's cool. Very happy for you. Thanks for sharing Daniel. Thanks everyone for you input. Wish you all the best.
  • Yeah I'm kinda in the same situation to. I'm still working on my short EMP (which I will update soon)and I have to probably render out my projects more than once. I'm not really sure which export type I should choose.
  • Personally I don't believe in luck myself. I believe everything happens for a certain reason. When I said quote a lot of prayer I said it half sarcastically. I know getting to a top position requires a lot of hard work, patience and skill. But I do…
  • Yeah that is what I am trying to do at the moment. I'm finishing up my Junior year right now and next year I'll graduate. So it is coming fast for me. I'm planning on doing some commercial work hopefully this coming fall and will be creating a promo…
  • Yeah I had the same idea of the "film industry". Thanks a lot for that. My main focus for jobs is to be a director and eventually start my own company, or work for a company that shares the same values in life. God is a huge part of my passion for …
  • Yeah I've been trying to build one. I have two aluminum pipes separated by six inches or whatever size you mini dolly is and it glides smooth. All you need is some nice small wheels from a skateboard and and some pipe and you could just build the re…
  • I watched three different times but couldn't really see what you are talking about. I think it looks great. Very nice. I like it a lot. Keep it up.
