HF has been optimized to work with the Cineform AVI codec (your gopro footage).   Transcode your T5i footage to Cineform and that should do it.

  • how can I do that?

You should have gotten GoPro Studio with the gopro which allows you to transcode.  If not, you can download it from GoPro.  (I'm assuming you're on Windows.)

  • I have a question. Has the GoPro footage mentioned been transcoded to Cineform or is it still native MP4/AVC media.

As simple answer is that the bitrate and encoding settings of the different camera media makes one more difficult to decode than the other. e.g. Higher bitrate is more overhead, all else being equal.

  • Its gopro footage straight out of the camera.

  • Protune On or Off?
