  • Something like video above please help.

Just Started using HitFilm Express 2017, having a deadline to create a video like above or like Trivago Commercial.

  • @The RobinX  I think that kind of effect is simply using 2D graphics in PNG format to preserve transparency and filming your actor pointing with in the directions where the graphic will be overlaid in post.  I suppose you could have him point and build the graphics after the fact but I think him imagining what the graphic will look like as he films is better.  The reveals would be done using masks to "hide" certain areas and then key frame the opacity from 0 to 100 when you want it to appear...  Hope I have helped in some small way.

  • Is there some tutorial video with similar kind of effects ?

  • @The RobinX  These might be useful.  Also, there are tons of them and some are listed to the right or might give you a heads up on what terms to use for a You Tube search.

The video on the industrial revolution is data driven.  In other words it is a true simulation based on data input into the graphics software.  This can come form sources such as Excel or just a text file (based on ASCII characters).

Currently there is no option to input a true data stream into HF (that I know of).  If so, you could fly an airplane based on the black  box data of the actual aircraft, and so on.

So, right now the only option is to manually keyframe the animation of the dots, sizes, etc.  Not to say that cannot be done, it is just tedious.  However, it is doable.   And since you are "keyframing" the motion you don't have to worry about the data location on each and every frame.  Just move down the timeline to the next second or so and make a keyframe for the new location of your point/object.  The computer figures out all the motion in between.

I think the day will come when we can input a data stream into HF but it's not here yet.

BTW, speaking of ASCII, you would be better served sending messages to this forum as plain text and not as HTML.
