I want to jump into Video Editing and I'm starting off on a budget. I'm going to be using Hitfilm Express 4. I'm trying to stay in the $1000 range.
Saw this one on Amazon and wondered if it's a solid choice.
Processor: Intel Core i7-7700HQ Quad Core Processor (6MB Cache, 2.8GHz-3.8GHz) 45W
RAM: 12GB DDR4 2400MHz | Hard Drive: 1TB Solid State Hybrid Drive
Optical Drive: SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW Dual Layer | Operating System: Windows 10 Home x64
Graphics Card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB GDDR5 | Display: 17.3" Full HD IPS UWVA anti-glare WLED-backlit Display (1920 x 1080)
12GB RAM & 1TB SSHD Upgrades | 3-Year CUK Limited Warranty (View warranty section below for more details)
This one pushes past the $1000 range, and I don't really want to push past this price for sure. But I found this one through another site's review.
Also found this one as well:
7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ Processor (Up to 3.8GHz)
15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) widescreen IPS display
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM
16GB DDR4 Memory, 256GB SSD
HDD upgrade kit available (2.5” bracket with SATA and power cable). Contact Acer support for your complimentary kit.
I'm not looking for the best laptop out there with killer insane framerates. I mainly want something that will perform at a solid rate and not have to worry about editing my mediocre small youtube videos with some cool effects in them.
Also, if you had to put a number on things. What would it be? For example:
1. CPU i7
3. RAM - 8 a monster difference than 16GB?
4. Vid Card (minimum you'd recommend) I've seen some back and forth between the Nvidia 1050 Ti 4GB and the 1060 6 GB. Which, the price is a difference of 300 to 400 dollars.
Or if this order is not correct. What would you choose? I've never done any of this, and I'm looking for someone with experience, but with a realistic sense to judge based on the budget fact.
