AUDIO SYNC ISSUE

Dear Sir or Ma'am,

I am a HitFilm Pro 4 user and I am working on project for my wife's birthday. I am compiling or compositing videos form various people with birthday wishes.  In the first video the audio is not in sync when played back after rendering basically it lags.  The original video is 24 fps and the project is 30 fps. I have set the audio sample rate for the project to 44100 Hz to match the original video.  I have also changed the frame rate of both the original video and project to match.  But this seems to make things worse.  I have notice you guys asking for the media info data so I have posted it below.  Please help her birthday party is on the 13th of January.

Thanks

  • Interesting. MediaInfo is giving you an incorrect report, there.

MediaInfo shows your source video as being Constant Framerate of 24.929 which is an illegal frame rate. Your source footage is probably variable frame rate.

Hitfilm 4 can't handle VFR footage. You should probably transcode your source footage to a constant framerate before import into Hitfilm.

Since you've edited, what you'll do is transcode the footage, then, in Hitfilm, right-click each media file in the Media bin and, select "Relink" then select the transcoded version. This will swap the files and keep your edits. This should fix it.

For detailed information on VFR and several ways to transcode, see this video.
