[Resolved] Can't import .MOV files in Windows

edited June 19 in Pro Support

Recently I jumped from lightworks to hitfilm express 2017. I shoot all of my stuff on a 550d and when I import them into hitfilm, it tells me to install QuickTime. I tried it before i learned that it doesn't support windows 10 anymore. Any ideas on solving this?

Try changing filenames from .mov to .mp4. The camera is putting h.264 video in a Quicktime wrapper, so that usually works.

  • I tried it but it doesn't work...and it could be a pain in the ass to change 300 file names. Still thanks :)

  • @RengJie Apple updated QuickTime to support Windows 10. If you grab the latest installer from the official website it should work. Remember that you have to restart your computer after installing QuickTime.

Please let us know if it still doesn't work after restarting.

Quicktime is available for Windows 10 & can be downloaded from here (external link to the Apple Website)

    Thanks,
