+1 Thanks for the tips
That's a great Roundup of power tips that will help a lot of users. Well done! I was really wondering how you would approach this, and think you knocked it out of the park.
#6 Learn the texture system. You can load custom images, videos, generated media and 3D models as textures. Use stock of real smoke as a texture for a sim, clone Stormtroopers in Hitfilm's "REBELLION" short, make entire fleets of spaceships fly through planetary rings with particles.

Finally, Javert's HFP tutorial on setting up 3D models as particle textures. Everything is the same through Hitfilm 2017.
Ok, I'll brag. Spaceships, thrusters, weapons, explosions, planetary rings, all particle sims in HFP3.
Explosion test using Action VFX pyro as particle textures
And another big fleet. This entire sequence is two particle sims synchronized together in real time cutting between three cameras placed in the scene.
The particle system is one of Hitfilm's best features, IMHO. It's tough to wrap your brain around as a n00b but once you do, there's a lot of power there. Never going to be such a thing as too many tutorials for it, if you ask me.
